Disc Makers General Conformity Statement to Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008

March 18, 2009, (Pennsauken, NJ) Disc Makers, the leading CD and DVD manufacturer for independent artists, filmmakers, and corporate and institutional content creators has issued its General Conformity Statement regarding its full compliance status with the CPSIA Act of 2008.

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) was enacted in August 2008 and put into law new maximum levels of lead and phthalates allowed in products, toys and child care articles meant for children 12 years of age or younger.

Tony van Veen, CEO of Disc Makers, has announced that all optical disc (CD and DVD) products manufactured and distributed by Disc Makers have successfully completed testing for compliance / certification as a "Children's Product" defined specifically by the CPSIA as a "consumer product designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age or younger".

We decided to move aggressively forward with testing to make 100% sure that our products are safe for use by children. The testing was completed on a wide matrix of products and packaging configurations – including discs, cases, and printed packaging materials – selected to ensure that all potential product configurations will be covered via the certification results. All testing has been completed at CSPC-approved third party.
