I’ve been using Disc Makers since 1995 and have had nine full-length CDs of original music, two CD singles and, way back when, a full-length cassette album. Every one of them completed at Disc Makers. When selling CDs, appearance makes all the difference, especially in stores. Disc Makers has always expanded on my ideas and made professional, eye-catching products, that is why from the first cassette album I did in 1995, I have continued to use Disc Makers through 11 more products – I never even considered any other company.
Of course the old saying, "what good is the frosting if the cake is no good," applies to CDs. The songs, musicianship, production, mixing and mastering have to stand up to the CD design to keep fans coming back for more music. The tips provided by Disc Makers in flyers, on their website, CD-ROMs and DVDs they sent to me, free of charge, helped when planning recording sessions, mixing, and mastering. Nothing Disc Makers sends me goes unread or fails to get viewed.
The professional design provided by Disc Makers landed me on Sirius Satellite Radio as the second most played artist on Sirius' Vacation Channel in 1995. The program manager, "Human Numan," commented on the CD covers, especially the CD titled Vacation as one of the reason he listened to the music, which was actually sent in by a fan. I had no idea until I got an email stating 15 of my songs were going on air. Twenty-six eventually made the rounds on the station at the rate of one song per hour.
My story of growing popularity continued into the next year, when in July 2006, I received a call from the producer of the Capital One Bowl halftime show. The producer commented on the design of my CDs Greetings From Florida and Vacation, both designed by Disc Makers, as being one of the reasons he called me. He searched the inetrnet and came across the Greetings From Florida CD, which was designed like an old fashioned postcard. The halftime show planned for two 60 x 40 foot banners on each side of the center-field music stage as the show was titled "Postcards From Orlando."
On New Year's Day 2007, in Orlando, Florida, at the Southeast Conference (SEC)-Big 10 College Championship game on ABC, more than a decade of making CDs with Disc Makers culminated in my performing three of my original songs in front of 65,000 live football fans and an estimated 17 million ABC television viewers. I went on to release my ninth full-length CD of original music, Dancing On The Beach, five days later. Of course, the CD was designed by Disc Makers. Who else? No one. Disc Makers is the best!
