Our story is quite unique! It began 3 years ago. After years of singing locally in Detroit my wife LaShell Griffin answered a call for talent for The Oprah Winfrey Show. Unaware that it was an invitation to compete in The Pop Star Challenge, LaShell and I sent an audition tape of her singing accapella to Chicago. Low and behold LaShell found out after a visit by Harpo (Oprah’s production company) to our house that she had been selected to be 1 of the 8 semi-finalists chosen to be on The Oprah Winfrey Show out of 15,000 entries. She would perform before Oprah, judges like Alicia Keys, BabyFace, Toni Braxton, Brian McKnight, Cyndi Lauper, Simon Cowell and millions throughout the world. LaShell conquered the competition becoming Oprah's first and only Pop Star Winner.
LaShell won a 1 record deal with Sony/BMG and recorded a CD entitled "Free" which climbed to #40 on Billboards R&B best sellers chart and #3 on The Gospel Chart.
Since then LaShell has gone from housewife, to recording artist to now label owner with myself. We are set to release her highly anticipated sophomore CD entitled "Dreams Are Possible" on the D.A.P Music Label that is being manufactured by Disc Makers.
