| Things
to know once you've ordered. |
Ordering
custom-manufactured discs can be a somewhat complicated process, particularly
if you’ve never done it before. Disc Makers has people and processes
in place to make sure that the process is as easy and smooth as possible.
The more you know, the smoother your order will flow through our facility.
Please read the information below to familiarize so that you can help
your project go through quickly and easily.
Your personal Project manager.
Once your order comes in, you’ll be assigned
your own Project manager who will be your primary contact for the
duration of your order. Your Project manager will call you and go
over any details that are unclear and will be the person who will
send proofs, take care of corrections, manage your project through
completion, and handle any reorders. For future new order quotations,
your product specialist who quoted your project will still be your
contact.
Deposit and final payment.
Disc Makers requires a deposit of 50% of the
purchase price with most custom manufacturing orders (your product
specialist will inform you of the deposit requirements). The balance
of the purchase price, subject to a five percent (5%) production under
or over run, is due upon completion of the order, before shipping
(no C.O.D.s). Your Project manager will notify you of your exact final
balance when your project is completed.
If replication orders are prepaid in full, including freight and applicable
taxes, any overs will be at no charge.
Reorders, rush orders, and printed materials, must be prepaid in full,
including freight and any applicable taxes. Direct mail fulfillment
orders always require postage to be paid before mailing. The customer
will be informed of the exact postage after we receive customer’s
mailing list.
Over and under runs.
Since your order is custom-made from scratch,
we reserve the right to vary the actual quantity shipped by a nominal
amount to account for our QC processes. Disc Makers reserves the right
to produce and bill for production over runs or under runs up to five
percent (5%) of the customer's order. You will be billed for actual
amounts shipped – e.g. if you order 1,000 units we will ship
between 950 and 1,050 units (though under runs don’t happen
often). If replication orders are prepaid in full, including freight
and applicable taxes, any overs will be at no charge. If your order
was an under run, we will credit your account for the difference.
Customer Content
Customers are responsible for obtaining backups
of originals of all content (including without limitation masters,
graphic files, multimedia files, video files, and audio files) provided
in digital electronic form (including without limitation recordable
CD or DVD, digital video master, Zip, SyQuest, 1630, DLT, DAT, or
other digital recording medium, or as uploaded to Disc Makers’
website via FTP, email, or other means) for manufacturing. Disc Makers
will not return such electronic content to the customer upon completion
of the order. Disc Makers will return analog masters, original artwork,
photos, transparencies, etc., furnished by the customer upon completion
and payment of the order.
Proofs (and what you can do to avoid delays).
Graphics proofs
– Whether we do your design or you supply your design, we will
check your files and send you a proof for your approval. In most cases,
we email the proof, but we may mail them via overnight delivery. In
order for an order not to be delayed, you must approve the proof the
day they you receive it from us; each day you hold onto your proof
without approving it will result in a day you will lose in production,
so please approve or call with changes and corrections immediately.
Audio or content proofs – For most
orders where you supply a CD-R, DVD-R, or DVD+R master ready to go,
we do not send a content proof; we guarantee the finished discs will
match the disc you sent us. However, if Disc Makers is doing authoring
or any audio mastering, we will send a reference disc, which need
to be approved the day you receive it to avoid production delays.
If you don’t approve your proofs the day you receive them, your
order will be delayed.
Please be aware of the following:
´ Significant changes or extensive corrections requiring multiple
rounds of proofs or changes to artwork at the customer’s request
will lead to delays in your project.
´ Check your proofs carefully; once you sign off on the proof, Disc
Makers is not responsible for any errors you missed.
´ If you supply the design of your project and want to make a change,
it is considered a change and not a correction, and there will be
a charge to make the change. Please proof your supplied design carefully
before sending it to us.
´ If Disc Makers does the design, we will do one round of corrections
for free; if we make them and you wish to make further corrections,
there may be a charge. We guarantee that you will be satisfied with
the design work and SoundLab mastering; if you are not satisfied,
we will refund your money.
Turn-times are not guaranteed.
Turn times as quoted or acknowledged by your
product specialist or Project manager are only an estimate, and are
not guaranteed. Please remember that every project is custom-made,
and while we do our utmost best to meet your deadlines, there can
be occasional unforeseen delays. Disc Makers disclaims liability for
delays in delivery and any resulting consequential damage or losses.
Your Project manager can keep you informed of estimated due dates
while your order is in progress, or you can check
your order status online.
