A project born of the studio, the BurnDown All-Stars are a Philadelphia-based live hip hop collective featuring the city's finest unsigned musicians and emcees. Beginning in 2003 with the release of BurnDown Presents...Volume 1, The Outside Connect Jawn, the All-Stars slowly took form over the next two years. The current line-up includes Dave Quicks, bandleader and producer, on guitar and vocals along with long-time Philly stand-outs Tom Walling on drums and Rico Joseph on bass. Spitting over this unshakable framework are BurnDown originators and mainstays Kuf the Emcee, Rok Bottom, and Carlito Attack. In the last two years, five more emcees have joined the ranks: Syne and Arcane (also known as the Dialects), MC Nutt, JawnZap7, and Lord Biz each made their BurnDown debut with the release of BurnDown Presents...Volume 2 in spring 2005 and have become regular features in the live show. Add to the mix a rotating roster of impressive instrumentalists and DJ's including DJ Cramske and guitarist Tom Copson, and you can begin to imagine the sheer force behind a BurnDown show. |
