2002 brought us The Outside... or at least 75% of The Outside. The foundation of Will Luttrell [bass], Ben Kennedy [guitar] and Damien Girardi [drums] came to meet from an ad Luttrell placed in the Village Voice seeking "creative musicians." The three gathered and instantly started sculpting the sound and style that would later become The Outside. Soon after, the missing link, Tree Jackson (Also from Lexington), auditioned... but was not offered the gig. "We weren't ready for her. We had just formed and needed time to mature." A year later, Jackson came back, and it was obvious that they had found their voice. Combining off-kilter rhythms, accessible pop melodies, and unbridled intensity, The Outside are able to play for the masses with their integrity intact. Their upcoming album is due to be released in October 2006, but to truly appreciate and grasp the band, you must see The Outside live.
