Hey Mister
It’s really no surprise that Kane Churko, Hey Mister’s young songwriter and singer, turns out such well-crafted gems that defy his lean years. His father is Kevin Churko, whose production work can be heard on albums by Shania Twain, The Corrs, and Ringo Starr. The elder Churko – who produced, co-wrote and engineered Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Rain album – co-produced and engineered Hey Mister’s debut EP, Buy! Borrow! Steal!

According to Churko, the inspiration for the band’s name came from the beloved 1964 Beatles film, A Hard Day’s Night. “There's a scene where the guys are running alongside a train shouting, "Hey Mister! Hey Mister! Can we have our ball back? I guess that left an impression on me, as ‘Hey Mister’ was the first band name that came to mind. I was surprised that no other Beatles-loving band had used it already.”
