Zaki is an R&B and soul artist who sings, writes lyrics, plays keyboard, and produces his homegrown sound. In 2003, Zaki auditioned at Philadelphia International Records with Chuck Gamble, Vice President of Gamble-Huff music. Gamble said that Zaki is a potential “superstar,” adding, “you have the look and you are good! I don’t say that to anybody during an interview.”
In 2004, Zaki received the title and an award for “Top Ten Producer” in the Worldwide Listen and Exchange Music Producers Competition. His award was presented in Houston, Texas. In addition to other awards and accolades, Zaki has performed at countless events and festivals, highlighted by a top-three placement in the "Dare to Dream" talent competition which culminated in a performance on the main stage the AFRAM which attracted over 100,000 in 2007. |
